For the second time MIBF shall host a special edition of the Illustrator's Survival Corner, a three-day educational marathon created in partnership with Bologna Children's Book Fair and Mimaster Illustrazione (Milan). For years it has been a core event of the Bologna Children's Book fair and one of the leading educational projects in the illustrator's world.

This year all events of ISC will be held online, which will allow young professionals from around the globe, wherever they physically are, to meet Russian and international experts working at the front lines of children's publishing. Our focus this year will be on creative and practical aspects of illustrated non-fiction and graphic novel.

How is works
1. Masterclasses will be held as video conferences in Zoom.

2. After you sign up you'll get an email containing a link to Zoom video conference. You will
have to connect 5 minutes in advance (for example, if it's scheduled at 9.00, please
connect at 8.55).

3. Our schedule is set to Moscow time. If you are in a different time zone, convert time at
www.time.is.

4. Your microphone will be muted during the masterclass, and neither do you have to turn on
your web cam.

5. There will be a Q&A part at the end of every masterclass. You will be able to make your questions to the speaker in video conference's chat.

How it works
  1. Masterclasses will be held as video conferences in Zoom.

  2. Our team will create your personal folder in Google Drive and share it with you and with the teacher. Using it you can upload your work and get feedback. If you use traditional technique the easiest thing to do is take a picture on your phone and upload it to Google drive. The folder will be shared to the email address you provide upon registration.

  3. Our schedule is set to Moscow time. If you are in a different time zone, convert time at www.time.is.

  4. After you sign up you'll get an email containing a link to Zoom video conference. You will have to connect 5 minutes in advance (for example, if it's scheduled at 9.00, please connect at 8.55).

  5. You can interact with the teacher during the masterclass, so you'll have to turn on your microphone and webcam. Please make sure beforehand both are working and connected.

How it works
  1. Portfolio reviews will be held as video conferences in Zoom. Upon registration you'll have to upload your portfolio and by the time you connect the reviewer will already have studied your work. You will have 6 mins max online to know his/her opinion and to make your questions.

  2. Those minutes are precious, so make sure you're well prepared: study the artist's work or publisher's catalogue and figure out the questions that would help you grow professionally.

  3. Working language of portfolio reviews is English, but some reviewers speak other languages. In that case we indicate it in the event's description.
