Сюн Лян — китайский писатель, художник и иллюстратор-новатор. Он родился в 1975 году в городке Цзясин в китайской провинции Чжэцзян и с раннего детства рисовал в традиционной технике — тушью и кисточкой.
Сюн Лян вырос в семье, члены которой принадлежали к разным религиозным направлениям, и впитал разнообразие культурных традиций и изобразительных стилей. Это помогает ему работать в «альтернативных» стилистических манерах, используя различные визуальные импульсы. Благодаря его уникальным способностям и воспитанию Сюн Лян обладает эзотерическим воображением, которое позволяет ему создавать захватывающие иллюстрации. Первой детской книгой Сюн Лян стала книга The Little Stone Lion («Маленький каменный лев», 2007). С тех пор Сюн Лян проиллюстрировал трехтомную серию детских стихов и игр Children at Large («Дети на воле», 2013) и несколько книг, в которых природа и смена времен года играют важную роль. Среди них — The Solar Terms («Сезоны солнечного календаря», 2015), Monster of the Monsoon («Муссонный монстр», 2015) и Wandering with the Wind («Странствуя с ветром», 2016).
Сюн Лян стал первым иллюстратором из Китая, включенным в шорт-лист имени Ханса Кристиана Андерсена (2018).

Xiong Liang is a writer, painter and pioneering Chinese illustrator. Born in July 1975 in the city of Jiaxing, in Zhejiang Province, Xiong began studying traditional Chinese ink wash painting at an early age. Brought up in a household of diverse religious backgrounds, his art incorporates a variety of cultures and visual styles. As such, he has always been able to work within a wealth of unconventional and "alternative" influences. His singular personality and upbringing have given him an esoteric imagination, and have enabled him to create one captivating work of illustration after another.His creations also span a diverse variety of genres, including novels, children's books, plays, modern ink brush painting and works of illustration for adults
His first illustrated children's book was The Little Stone Lion in 2007. He has since illustrated a three-book collection of nursery rhymes and games – entitled Children at Large (2013) – and several other books where nature, weather and the seasons play a powerful role. These include The Solar Terms (2015), Monster of the Monsoon (2015) and Wandering with the Wind (2016).
He is the first Chinese illustrator to be shortlisted for the Hans Christian Award (2018).
